And I am an Artist. I am an artist with a passion to learn. I like to experiment with new medias, new forums, textures and new ways of thinking. Pastels, Guache, Acrylics, Colored Pencil, Mineral Spirits, Ink and Clay are traditional medias I have already worked with, but I am still searching for more. I also enjoying working with Digital Media and Photography in creating something new with a life of its own. There are many different art forms such as the ones I have described above to help in expressing yourself. Expression through art is a means of specifically interacting with the viewer(s), in hopes of creating not only an illusion the artist intended but also the viewers on perspective vision. Whether it may be a simple yellow bell pepper which show shapes, shadows and bright colors to conjure happy emotions and possibly a hunger for veggies, to a multilayered painting filled with deeper symbolism that takes more than a few simple moments to understand. I am an artist who enjoys expressing both sides of the spectrum while dabbling in all forms of art. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Pre-medical Illustration and General Biology at Iowa State University. Combining Art and Science heightened my physical technique and my knowledge of exactly what I was illustrating and the ability to later present my findings alongside my presentation.
